Recently, I have been thinking about treating myself to some new business cards. I had been toying with what, I thought, were some pretty catchy designs. However, having googled around a little bit I have found some amazing cards that have made me want to completely rethink my ideas :-(

Business cards a tricky. While at Borders, I picked up “The Best of Business Card Design: Five”. I referenced it often when working on a personal identity a few months back. Things people make business cards out of are amazing, but I always get into the wrestling match with comfort and convenience for the recipient and pushing the limits. No one wants to carry around a 5 lb business card made out of metal or wood, but boy do they look awesome.

I’ll have to check that out Matt, sounds very interesting.
I definitely think there is a compromise to be made in terms of practicality. I don’t think I could fit more than one of those wooden cards in my wallet (mind you, it’s currently full of crap, which doesn’t help).
I think the best cards are the ones which simply fulfill the purpose of telling someone who you are and what you do, whilst being bold in their design.
Food for thought methinks…

I with you agree. In it something is. Now all became clear, I thank for the help and I hope to see more such articles.
